Interested in buying a new build home but not sure of the benefits? Well it’s a common concern and one we’re addressing here for the first time on the blog.
Check out the ways in which you can benefit from buying a new build home over an older property, how it can save you money, help the environment and give you peace of mind.
7 Benefits of Buying a New Build Home:
I certainly know from experience that older homes can cost you a lot of money in terms of upkeep and running costs. New builds don’t have that problem and in most cases, you have a new home ready to move into. It’s not always the case with an older home, that’s for sure.
Helping the Environment:
So here’s an interesting fact that has really made me stop in my tracks today:
On average, new builds in England and Wales today are 65% more energy efficient than a Victorian house of the same style.
It’s something I can well believe as we can’t have cavity wall insulation for example in our Victorian home. We’ve done as much as we can to make our home energy efficient, including lots of new insulation during our loft conversion, but it’s not as good as a new build.
The 10 Year Warranty:
I’m sure you’re aware that all new build homes come with a 10 year warranty so you always have the confidence that should anything happen, you’re covered and protected.
New builds are designed to meet the strict standards of modern living and design, a definite advantage over older homes. Our own home, for example is over 120 years old now and was never built to last that long.
Affordable Homes Schemes:
Moving home or even getting onto the property ladder can often seem an impossible dream, but many builders help with different costs making a new build home a much more affordable possibility.
Help with Moving Costs:
It’s very common to be able to have assistance with your moving costs when you’re buying a new build home, and a great way to make the whole move a much more cost effective process.
The Blank Canvas:
Who wants to be stripping woodchip off the walls for years to come? That’s definitely a possibility when you buy an older house, and putting up with someone else’s DIY bungles is a real headache. No such problems with a new build; you’ll have your very own blank canvas to really make your own.
The images that I’ve used here are all from Lovell housing and I am really impressed by the quality of the interiors and the appealing, accessible design that’s been used.
It’s often so hard to imagine how we can live in an empty new build home, so designing and dressing the space to showcase a real, stylish family home is key. I think they’ve done a great job here, don’t you agree?
In fact, Lovell has a brand new website, with a sleek new look and good design. If you’re interested in new build homes, its definitely one to check out. Find out more HERE.
