Blog it for Babies in Nottingham with Luminarium

This week I am taking part in a local event that has me extremely excited and will hopefully, make a difference.

On Thursday 3rd May a group of East Midlands based bloggers (me included) will be creating one of 12 huge windows in EXXOPOLIS – the next Luminarium.  Architects of Air’s Luminariums are giant colourful, inflatable sculptures you can walk inside. We are giving up our time to spend the day at Nottingham’s Lakeside to create our window which will then go on tour around the world. The whole event has been brilliantly organised by Penny at The Alexander Residence, who is the resident mummy blogger for Lakeside.

Our window will have it’s world premiere in Nottingham at the Wheee! Children’s theatre and dance festival at Lakeside Arts from 2-9th June. Wheee! culminates in a family weekend on the 9th and 10th June, with free craft, art, spontaneous performance and fun in the parkland around the arts centre, plus even more shows to choose from. You can book shows now. Last year this weekend attracted over 4,000 visitors!

On the day we will also be helping the fabulous Mammasaurus parent blogger raise awareness and money for Save the Children. Mammasaurus is on a UK Blog Tour meeting up with groups of local bloggers all over the country in order to promote her blogitforbabies campaign. We’re hoping for TV and local press at the event this Thursday to really bring some awareness to the day and in return for our labours in making the Lumiarium, we would love you to sponsor us a £1. All you need to do is just TEXT: XVRL71£1 to 70070. All the monies raised will go to the Blog it for Babies Just Giving page. Thank you.

Wish us luck; I’ll let you know how it goes.

Brilliant! Have just donated. We went to the Luminarium last year with Jack who was 13mths old at the time. He (and we) loved it. We shall look forward to seeing your efforts at this years. It’ll be nice to see Jack’s response now he’s older.

THank you so much Claire. I’d not come across the Luminarium until this year so I’m really excited to see it!
