So in just over a week’s time I’ll be heading down to London to the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards for, I’m hoping a fun and exciting night of meeting other bloggers. I’m particularly looking forward to meeting the others in my category, Best Interiors Blog.
If you voted for me earlier in the year I want to say a huge thank you. It took nominations and then a round of voting to get me to this point, and now it’s all in the hands of the judges. Some might say this could be third time lucky. I lost out in the MADS last year and Britmums ealier this year, but to be honest I’m just totally thrilled to have made it to the Finalist’s Shortlist.
The fourth Cosmpolitan Blog Awards are huge, with over 43,000 nominations, 133 shortlisted blogs and over 42,000 votes. To say I’m excited about going is an understatement! The event is being held at the wonderful OXO Tower on the Southbank which boasts stunning views of St Paul’s Cathedral and the River Thames and it sounds like it’s going to be a truly amazing night. There will be all kinds of brands on hand ensuring we have a fabulous time from Electric London doing hair, to Pinky Vodka providing the cocktails and The Vintage Cosmetic Company doing false lashes. In a room full of beauty and fashion bloggers I need to get my outfit right so I’ll be off shopping this week to get that sorted!
Doesn’t it sound great?
Cosmopolitan have been great at keeping us all informed about what’s going on and what to expect, but I must say I found this film of celebrity chef, Gizzi Erskine pouring over the blogs and choosing the winners rather unnerving. It’s great to see what really goes on in the background though.
Whatever happens on the night I’m determined to have a great time, and I’m so looking forward to meeting Antonia from Tidy Away Today. We’ve chatted lots online but have yet to meet face to face.
In honour of the upcoming awards ceremony, I’ve given the blog a little makeover and altered the blog background for the next month. This month I’m showcasing a wallpaper from Homebase called Delamere in Blue Silver, from their Fine Decor range as my blog wallpaper. I thought it would be great to commemorate the event and to thank them too for their collaboration throughout the summer on my Garden Makeover project. Take a look and let me know what you think.
