Last week I was asked to attend a lovely blogger event with the Interior Designer Danielle Proud.
Danielle has recently designed a new Eco-cup for the Kenco Coffee Rewards scheme and to celebrate the launch we took part in a lovely Design Masterclass, creating a gorgeous eco-friendly coaster.
Danielle Proud is an eco interior design expert and normally focuses on much larger products, but being keen to launch into homewares, she has teamed up with Kenco to create this beautiful limited edition coffee mug, available only through the Kenco Rewards scheme.
The masterclass was hosted in an amazing venue, the Proud Galleries in Camden. The original London horse stables , Danielle has been intricately involved in designing and renovating the premises to create an incredibly fun and funky setting. We sat in the very cool stable (named after Red Rum!) for our gathering with live music playing from across the room. Fabulous.
After a brief chat with Danielle, we cracked on with the tutorial and masterclass to create our lovely coaster. The wood came from Danielle’s own garden, and she took us through the stages of how to add our very pretty transfers onto the coaster (this was the tricky part) and then, after a period of drying time, we added a layer of varnish. There was plenty of time to chat to other bloggers and to find out more about Danielle, the design world, her family and her business ventures. What an interesting lady!
What do you think of the end result then? It’s very pretty isn’t it, and it’s dried out beautifully at home. Becky was very proud of her creation too! Isn’t it a lovely addition to the very pretty Eco-cup?
Danielle says, “Keeping the environment at the forefront of design is something I really believe in”.
Want to get your hands on one of these beautiful mugs? Well all you need to do is visit MyKenco.com and collect your rewards from jars of Kenco coffee. Couldn’t be simpler. It’s Kenco’s way of giving something back to their loyal customers (of whom I am one actually) and rewarding them with some lovely treats.
And so the evening came to an end. We were all lucky enough to have an official photo with Danielle –
And I even had the chance for a private word with Danielle about featuring on the blog – watch this space for more information on that coming soon!
Thank you to Kenco Coffee for inviting us to London to the design masterclass with Danielle and for providing a lovely Eco-cup and some coffee to use at home. I’ve already been putting it to good use!
