Dream Bedroom Blogger Competition: Win £500 to Spend at Debenhams

Bloggers, would you love to win £500 to spend on your dream bedroom? Well Debenhams are offering you just that when you enter our  fantastic new Dream Bedroom Moodboard Competition.

A bedroom should be a place of sanctuary. It should be calm, inviting and made for relaxing.Well that’s how I’d like mine!

Have you ever given much thought to your dream bedroom? What would it include? Perhaps you would want loads of storage to make sure everything is tidied away and kept clutter free. Maybe you’d like sumptuous duvets and soft billowing pillows. Or maybe you need lots of new lovely furniture to bring your bedroom up to date. Whatever you would like or need, this is the chance to be put those ideas together and be in with a chance of making them a reality.

For this Debenhams competition I really want you to be creative and design the bedroom you’ve been dreaming of. To be in with the chance of winning £500 to spend at Debenhams this is what you need to do:

1. Create a Moodboard depicting your Dream Bedroom using images from the Debenhams.com website upto a value of £5000

2. Write a blog post including the moodboard, describing what you’ve chosen and why. List the items and their cost.

3. Add the link to your blogpost into the comments on this post.

So hop on over to the bedroom section at Debenhams.com and get started.

Creating your Moodboard:

Now don’t be put off about creating a Moodboard. It’s really simple and there are various ways you can do it.

With Polyvore:

To start with you could use Polyvore, an online moodboard creator tool that’s great fun. A little while ago I wrote a tutorial on creating a Polyvore moodboard which could be useful if you haven’t used it before. Here’s a Polyvore Moodboard I’ve created using items from debenhams.com to show the kind of thing you might like to put together for this competition. Don’t forget you need to list the products and their cost in the blog post too.

You can see I’ve gone for a clean, fresh looking room, with some quirky touches.

With PicMonkey:

If Polyvore isn’t for you that’s no problem, just use a collage creator like Picmonkey to create your board. Copy the images from the debenhams.com website and save them to your computer. Then upload them to Picmonkey and start arranging your moodboard. Simple. You can use as many or as few images as you’d like as long as you don’t go over the £5000 spend limit. And as I mentioned before, you need to add in a list of the products and their cost.

Who’s Judging?

Well Debenhams has asked yours truly to judge the entries, along with the fabulous Annie from Mammasaurus. Annie is also running the competition over on her blog and you can choose whether you enter here or at Mammasaurus. Annie and I will choose one overall winner from all of the entries and announce it on our blogs as well as at the Debenhams site.

The great thing is, we will each be choosing a runner from up from the entries on our own blogs too!  Those runners up will each win £50 to spend at Debenhams. So you might like to consider whose style, mine or Annie’s,  is more similar to your own and enter there. But beware, you can only enter once and we will be checking.

So what are you waiting for? Getting designing your moodboard and writing those blog posts. And don’t forget to come back here and link up when you’re done.

The competition closes on 18th October 11.59pm

Full Terms and Conditions can be found on the Debenhams blog here

Good Luck!!

Eeek! I’ve only gone and joined in haven’t I! Although I’m embarrassed to say that I chose exactly the same duvet cover set as you, before I realised you had it too. Ah well, great minds think alike.

Here’s the link to my post and fingers crossed! http://fivesafellowship.com/an-autumn-bedroom/

I have already posted a comment as an entry however it just keeps saying ‘your comment is awaiting moderation’ so I’m posting again as I’m worried it didn’t enter me. So if you see two comments from me please regard this one as my entry.

I thoroughly enjoyed putting this together, I may have developed an addiction to mood boards as a result! Definitely something I will do next time we’re looking to redecorate or create a new space. Hopefully the mood I was going for has been expressed in my choices 🙂

Hi Jen, what a great competition!! Here I am with my entry, a bit close to the wire, but hopefully I made it just in time?! I had such fun creating my cosy, muted dream bedroom. What do you think?

    Hello Jen
Here is my blog posting for your Debenhams dream bedroom competition. My inspiration for my bedroom is a buddleia bush in my garden, during the summer it was visited by hundreds of butterflies, in the depths of winter I could relax in this bedroom and be transported back to those warm summer days. I have chosen oak furniture to complement the natural country feel.
Hope you like it, I enjoyed creating it.
