Help Beat Kids Cancer with TKMaxx and Cancer Research

A couple of days ago I joined in a Twitter party promoted by Tots100 to ‘Give Up Your Clothes’, an initiative and partnership between TKMaxx and Cancer Research encouraging us to clear out our wardrobes and donate them to raise money. For an hour we chatted about fashion and style, all the while raising awareness of the biggest clothes collection in the UK.

Between 1-30 April you can take all of your unwanted clothes, dvds and cd’s and homewares to TKMaxx and they will be sold in Cancer Research shops raising money to help children beat Cancer.

So, with Spring now very much knocking at the door, it’s time to revisit your decor and brighten up your interiors. What to do with the bits and bobs you are no longer using? Well, pop then in a bag, and take a visit to your local TKMaxx. They have special bags you can put them in or just drop them in the container inside the store. You can even be in the with the chance of winning £1000 in their prize draw.

We went along yesterday, having cleared out mine and the childrens’ wardrobes and deposited 2 large black bags full of unwanted clothes. We shopped for more whilst there too! If you have old homewares, maybe stored in the loft or boxed up in the attic, why not clear out some space and take them along – you can take linens, bedding, ornaments and cushions.

In the last 6 years TKMaxx has raised 10 million through this initiative and 6 million of which has gone directly into researching childrens cancers. What an amazing partnership! Well worth supporting I say.
