Reasons to be Cheerful – Week 8

Well, it will be painfully obvious to most people visiting this blog that it is VERY new, and, although I’m trying to post quite a bit each week, there still isn’t that much content on here.

Reasons to be Cheerful at Mummy from the Heart
I’m writing this blog after discovering my love of writing over on my other blog Sign and the City. Some people will know that, for part of the week I run my own business teaching families and children to use sign language to communicate before they speak. I started a blog to be able to talk more about the business and baby signing and it’s been great fun. I have learned a lot about blogging over the last 6 months and I’ve read an inordinate amount of ‘how to’ blogging articles. But that blog does have it’s limitations because I am strongly tied in to my parent franchise company, and because my actual business is very local, and blogging to a much wider audience doesn’t really benefit the business.

So, that’s when I came up with the idea to explore the blogging community further by sharing my love of interiors, home design and style, and family lifestyle. All in a modern, contemporary way. From a blogging point of view this is what am I cheerful for this week?

  1. Over the last 2 weeks people have been looking at, reading and, in some cases, commenting on my posts. Woo hoo.
  2. Over the last 2 weeks I’ve found some amazing businesses and online boutique home stores through the blog and twitter and it feels like one big fantastic shopping trip!
  3. In the last week I’ve been contacted by a few companies who are interested in having me review their products, share some offers, and run some competitions. It’s exciting and exhilirating, and I’m loving it.

If you are here for the first time, please do take a look around and let me know what you think. I know my style won’t be for everyone, but I’m hoping that you can see the potential in what I’m trying to showcase and will pop back now and again to say hi. Maybe you’ll get a little inspiration for a gift for a friend, for some new wallpaper for your living room, or you’ll discover a great little online store that you never knew existed.

Sharing is caring!
