I do love a great rug. I’m always on the lookout for interesting, different rugs that work with my decor. I think they’re one of those accessories, like cushions, that really finish the look of a room. But I find it hard to source the right sort of rug. I’m tired of shaggy, deep piled, or flowery rugs. I want something innovative, sophisticated, contemporary and funky.

So, when I was asked to take a look at the selection at The Rug Retailer, I was very impressed and pleasantly surprised. Their range is extensive and there were so many modern, graphic print or geometric styles to choose from. I was completely and utterly spoilt for choice.

I’d decided I wanted to try some colour in our dining room / den and replace the neutral coir style rug that I’d had there for a year or two. It’s a bright colourful room, with very intense feature wall, and other geometric print wall art and cushions. It doesn’t have to match necessarily, just work alongside the rest of the decor and add a bit more colour and texture.

This is the Serengeti Rug in Green, 100% Wool and hand-woven in India. The flat weave pile really appealed to me. The children still play in this room, and deep pile rugs aren’t suitable for many of their toys. Lego soon gets lost in the pile for example! So I was very excited to find this flat weave in a wool, not something I’d come across before.

It arrived well packed, and once rolled out soon lay flat after a few hours. It’s been down a week and we love it. I’ve vacuumed it a few times and there are a few threads coming out but I think this is part of the natural shedding process of a new rug. It feels both soft and hard-wearing at the same time, and I’m really impressed with the quality, look and feel of this wool rug.

Serengeti, if you like this graphic print is available in 6 different colours, and 3 different sizes. This is the medium size, 170 x 120cms and is perfect for a medium-sized room. At £96, it’s a good price too for a wool rug and I’d easily pay this for something so interesting.

As I mentioned, The Rug Retailer has a great selection of Wool rugs, Designer Rugs, children’s rugs and so on, so do check them out if you’re looking for something a bit different. You can find their website here

What do you think of our new rug? Do you like a geometric print rug?

Thanks to The Rug Retailer for gifting me a rug for this review. The words, comments and opinions are genuine, honest and my own.

That’s a very nice rug. I just decided to get rid of a rug we had in the dining room, and now the dog has nowhere to sit when she comes in to see us. I love the design on this one, never heard of the company before.
