Great design, fabulous quality and a solid reputation, UGG Australia boots are the footwear of choice for many in the Winter months. So why am I writing about them now you ask? Well, UGG Australia asked me if I’d like to look at one of their products and take them out for a spin. As the weather is only just crawling towards being semi-decent I felt the time was right to put them through their paces. So to speak.
I plumped for the Bailey Buttons in Grey which retail at £175. Why did I go for this style in particular? Well, I love the look of UGG boots and I know from talking to others that they wouldn’t have anything else, but I wanted something that was slightly different to the obvious. With the wooden button and elastic closing, the top of the boot can be folded down to expose the snug Twinface Sheepskin giving the boot quite a different look.
Almost like two boots in one! Perfect.
So, I’ve had the boots for a week now, and I’ve actually worn them out twice, and in the house like slippers in the evening when my feet are cold.
They are the lightest boot I’ve ever tried, and I wasn’t expecting that. I’ve had similar styles before and they’ve been heavy and clumsy to wear. Not the UGG Bailey Button. As I say, I’ve worn them like slippers. In fact, they’re probably lighter than those too.
The are incredibly warm as you would expect. I really can’t wait to try them in the depths of winter but at the moment they’ve kept my chilly toes snug and cosy on many a cool evening (I do get cold by the way!). UGG Australia uses the highest quality Twinface sheepskin which keeps your feet cool in Summer and warm in Winter. Only the highest quality of sheepskin make it through the testing process to become a pair of boots. Apparently it takes lots of skill and experience to work with this material and UGG have taken it to extremes, leading the way in design using this product.
Sizing can often be an issue with UGG footwear but after a quick poll of my Facebook friends, I decided to go for my normal size. Apparently they can be a little big, but I’ve no problems at all, they fit like a very fluffy, snug glove. And as they’re made of natural materials I’m sure they will stretch a little.
Now if you’re thinking it’s not the right time to invest in a pair of UGG Boots, do take a look at the rest of the range for some gorgeous summer footwear. I have selected one or two to add to my wishlist!
How about Atasha, a lovely Summer ankle strap wedge for £85:
Or how about Lucianna Marrakech, a sleek wedge with silk ankle tie for £12o.
Aren’t they both gorgeous? Expensive I know, but well worth it. Take a peek at the UGG Australia website for the full range of their boots, slipper and lovely summer sandals. You won’t be disappointed!
Disclosure: I was sent a pair of UGG Australia Button Bailey boots free of charge for this review. However the opinions and comments expressed are genuine and honest.
