We totally and utterly love books in our house. The girls love to read, Miss R even has her own blog where she reads some of her favourites out loud to her imaginary ‘class’. We have books everywhere and even yesterday had a discussion about the books that they’d like Santa to bring them this year. Miss E wants one on How to Dance, and Miss R fancies a book about the Body!
Recently we’ve been supporting Miss E as she read ‘The Hobbit’; a gift from a friend for her birthday this year. It’s a big book for an 8 year old to read! But she managed it, and is so proud that her teacher has chosen it as his class book; the story he reads to everyone at the end of the day. I think she was more proud that he’d asked her opinion of it before selecting it.
This is one of Miss R’s video as she reads one of our all time favourites, Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers:
I do love the bit where she yawns!
And so over to the photos. This is one of my all time favourite photos of Miss R as a baby, ‘reading’ one of her first books.
Isn’t it wonderful to look back on old photos of our children? How many hours I have lost just flicking through albums on my laptop, reliving a holiday, a Christmas or a birthday. Do you do the same?
