Vertbaudet Girls Fashion – Winter Coat Review

As you know last week I went to the MAD Blog awards, more posts on that here and here, and Vertbaudet were kind enough to sponsor my category of Best Home Blog.

As well as trying out some lovely kids bedroom products and accessories before the awards, we’ve been road testing their fashion too. I mentioned in the earlier post that I’ve never bought from Vertbaudet before; I’d heard the sizing can be a little tricky to get right, and although the designs are gorgeous it is a little more expensive that other high street stores.

Well we decided to have a look at their winter coats from the new Autumn/Winter collection. Miss E chose this beautiful purple coat, with detachable hood, deep pockets and lovely gathered detail around the waist. I gambled on sizes, as she’s small for her age, and went just slightly above what we’d normally buy. It worked. The size 8 fitted perfectly and will probably last next year too. She’s been wanting a wool coat for ages, and I’ve always resisted, not thinking them particularly practical, but other high street alternatives can be so dull! With it’s pretty lining and military style appearance, this coat is bang on trend and just gorgeous. She’s removed the hood for the photos.

Miss R was taken with the duffle coats, and we loved this beautiful teal colour; I knew it would suit her colouring. This one is fleece lined and comes with detachable mittens (which, to be honest were her main priority). I can’t tell you how thick and warm this coat is, it’s going to be the toastiest coat in the depths of winter. She decided to wear it to school the other morning, but gave it back to me in the playground and asked me to bring it home as she was too hot! It has very pretty pink contrast stitching across the front, and actually does up with a zip to save children having to fiddle with the toggles. We went a whole size up for her as she normally wears age 5 or a 5-6, and again it worked, the size 6 is perfect.

So, what about price? Well as you can see from the images Miss E’s purple coat is £49, and Miss R’s duffle is £45. Other colours in the same styles are cheaper and there is a Vertbaudet mid season sale currently on. I know they’re more expensive that some high street brands but the quality and styling is superb. I’ve no doubt these coats are going to wear well through the winter. I’m really impressed, and would definitely shop here again.

Thank you to Vertbaudet for sending the girls’ coats for free for us to review. The opinions I’ve expressed however, are genuine and honest.

Oooh, they both look lovely. It’s so hard to find a good winter coat isn’t it? Score on all counts here.

Beautiful little coats. Coats are something I never mind paying more for, especially if they are good quality.
