Stylish UK Holiday Cottages: Kent and Suffolk

I am a huge fan of UK Cottage Holidays. Ever since my girls were small we’ve been taking holidays all over the UK, usually on the coast, exploring different regions and areas to which we have previously never been. At first I was disappointed to not be going abroad once the girls came along, but to be honest, I would much rather experience stylish UK holiday cottages now and these are some of the reasons why.

This wonderful looking property, Lower Standen Farm is in rural Kent, tucked away down a winding lane with stunning views of the countryside. One of the main draws of a cottage holiday for me is being able to choose somewhere hidden away from the hustle and bustle of daily city life. The peace and solitude I feel when I’m on one of these breaks is wonderful and I wouldn’t swap it for anything. There are other reasons I love these holidays though!

Beautiful properties are often lovingly restored and decorated with flair and style. I love the eclective feeling of this lounge, with its magnificent fireplace and airy feel. If you choose wisely, many have incredible views too.

Wouldn’t a setting like this create a wonderful base for your holiday? This property is available through Freedom Holiday Homes and sleeps 10 over 5 bedrooms.

If you fancy a different location to Kent, why not try the East Anglian county of Suffolk? I’m quite taken with both of these areas as we haven’t ‘done’ these yet and I’m always interested in new places to try out.

This lovely modern property, The Cabin, has bedroom views over the sea at Southwold and is a stone’s throw from the beach. Properties like this are very popular with families and we’ve always found it worth booking well in advance to get the best cottages. This one is available through Suffolk Secrets and as prices vary throughout the year it’s well worth checking the easy search facility on the website. The Cabin sleeps 4 over 2 bedrooms.

I love the clean lines, simple decor and pops of colour in this holiday cottage. I think the family would be very comfortable here for a week and being so close to the beach is ideal.

Are you a fan of UK cottage holidays?

If you’ve not done one before would you consider it? I find they are a wonderful way to experience excellent homes in the beautiful British countryside. It’s stylish UK holiday cottages all the way for me!

A group of friends (all with young children) and my family all stayed in a holiday cottage in Wiltshire. It was part of a farm, and the kids loved going to see the chickens and geese every morning! It was a great experience. You’re right, staying in a beautiful house can make all the difference to a holiday.

Oh wow what a stunning cottage. I too love UK Cottage holidays. We’ve had some fabulous breaks with the kids, a personal favourite was on a farm near Southwold, a converted barn with our own hot tub. Blissful.
