An Indian Summer with Out & Out Garden Furniture

Let me introduce you to the stunning Havana 6 Seater Table and Chairs set from Out & Out. If there’s one way to enjoy an Indian Summer in the garden, this is it.

I took these images at the weekend, the beginning of September, and what a glorious weekend it was. The weather was quite unexpected, yet so welcome.

Whilst we’ve been spoiled with a beautiful summer, I’m loathe to give up the warm days just yet, and so I made the most of the sun, spending some time on the patio.

Our garden is absolutely in a state of flux. We’ve spent much more time and money on the indoors in the last 18 months, but the outdoor space needs much more attention. We’ve started on building a new patio at the bottom of the garden, which will free up this top patio of storage; it’s a work in progress.

What we have been able to do though is update our old garden and chairs combo with this contemporary beauty from Out & Out.

It comes in the form of a 160cm long table and 6 stackable chairs. One thing I noticed straight away was how light it all is. It’s made from high quality aluminium, heat treated and electrostatically covered in a deep charcoal colour, perfect for outdoor use. It can be left out all year round.

I was immediately drawn to the contemporary, sleek styling. Our old set was a cheap purchase from eBay about 8 years ago and was dated and worn but this Havana set is very modern. It fits exactly with the look I love and want to keep around the house and home.

So, why do I choose a set like this? Well one huge reason for me is that it’s maintenance free. There’s no way we’d ever find the time or inclination to treat a wooden set every year, so this is the perfect answer.

I am going to invest in a cover to keep it looking pristine through the winter, but I’ve already wiped it several times (it’s been in our garden for over a month) and it comes up looking like new every time.

I think you can just see from the image above that the coating gives it a little sheen, almost like a shimmer. Even though it’s so light it feels durable and solid. I’m extremely impressed with the quality; the whole set is extremely well made (the husband is very keen on checking how joints are soldered or connected!)

And let me tell you how comfortable the chairs are. I’ve noticed, as they are so light, how much easier it is for the children to move them when they sit at the table. The old set was very heavy, and for kids, proved to be a bit of an issue. With the Havana chairs they have no such problems.

In fact it’s a hit with the whole family. They’re all a bit camera shy so you can’t see how we’ve enjoyed family meals, barbecues and general hangouts around this table. There have been quite a few games of Uno late into evenings too (sorry you’ll only get this reference if you have kids, or love the game!) and long may they continue through our promised Indian Summer!

The Havana dining set retails for £499 and is, apparently an Out & Out best seller. I can see why. I think it’s absolutely worth the money, is incredibly practical for a family home and, of course, looks the part too.

The only downside I can see is the lack of central hole for an umbrella. Maybe the idea of that is a little old school though, particularly in a more contemporary style. I’ll just have to invest in a standalone umbrella for next summer!
