Designed by designer and artist Federica Bubani, the Fabbian Mia table lamp is a contemporary, fun and simple light that adds bags of character to any room. Available from Lampcommerce I initially loved the quirky idea of creating a light projector look, but once it arrived, I was more taken with the quality and overall style of the piece.

I’m always on the lookout for new and inspiring lighting. I saw some amazing pieces in Spain recently on my blog tour and I’m really excited to share those with you soon.
But this one looks great in my home. I’ve put it in my office, to offer a little extra ambience in there in the evenings, and it will be really useful when we have visitors as my workspace also doubles up as a spare room. To be able to just move things around slightly and add the mattress to the side-table and lamp is an easy way for us to make guests feel welcome. I’m also loving that it doesn’t take up too much space. You can see the perspective against the A4 print in the image above which illustrates the sizing perfectly.
Of course great design always means attention to detail, and whilst this lamp is simple and elegant, the black and white cord offers something playful and different to something so plain. It’s a cool touch, something that I like for my contemporary home, and something that helps the lamp stand out.
Do be careful moving it around. The interior of the larger part is not glazed and will mark if the smaller insert rubs against it too much. This shouldn’t be a problem at all if you set the lamp up and just leave it in place. Obviously I’ve been moving mine around in order to photograph it, and have noticed a few little scuffs.
You can find out more about the Fabbian Mia table lamp and make a purchase on the lampcommerce website. Note it is currently on offer at £108 at the time of writing.
What do you think of this lamp? Love the quirkiness, yet adore the simplicity and clever design. I think it’s hard for table lamps to stand out, but this one is different enough to manage it. I’m interested to see if you agree.
The lamp was gifted for the purposes of the review but all comments and opinions are genuine and my own.
