It’s always great fun to discover new and exciting brands that want to bring their products to the UK, and Matiere Grise is exactly one. They are a great fit for me and the blog and I hope you like them too. With work on our attic conversion well underway now (yes, it really does feel like I’m living in a building site – don’t ever let anyone tell you the rest of the house won’t be affected) I’m looking for new pieces for the bedrooms and new office all the time. I’ve already decided on giving it all a little contemporary industrial vibe, so when I started looking at the Matiere Grise products I was hooked. Matiere Grise effortlessly blends both indoor and outdoor designs to create pieces that work seamlessly between the two. The garden style pieces are very contemporary but have a more industrial, elegant edge too. The collections range from Consoles to Seating to Tables and more. Here are some of my favourite finds from their range:
Console || Hegoa Stool || Solano || Plancha Sideboard || Hegoa Sideboard
From the Industrial stools to the multi functional sideboards there’s something for every type of home. If you have a classic, more traditional style of interior why not shake things up a little and add something from Matiere Grise to your outdoor space. Alternatively if you’ve been looking for a functional, stylish low coffee table with an industrial vibe, you may well have found it here.
The black Hegoa Sideboard featured above works beautifully both indoors and out, providing a place for potted plants or the barbecue in the garden, or for a stylish lamp and magazines when indoors. It’s very much worth mentioning that all of these products come in a vast array of colours – I’ve just chosen these for their aesthetic rather than their colour, but there will be a colour to suit your decor in the range, just go and check it out.
The image at the top of the page shows the collaboration between Matiere Grise and Accor hotels, where the brand developed the public areas and dressed them beautifully with their pieces. I think it’s alway useful to see how products will look when styled in real spaces so hopefully that gives you a good idea.

I partnered with the brand to write this article but every word is mine
I really love anything French design! I’ve never heard of Matiere Grise but I’m glad I did because I’m always on the hunt for new furniture brands!
