Gorgeous Door Handle Prize Giveaway from www.ironmongerydirect.co.uk

This competition is now closed.

I’ve got a really lovely giveaway for those of you who like adding the finishing touches to your home. When I was asked a little while ago to look through the range on ironmongerydirect.co.uk I will admit to feeling a little overwhelmed. Not just because of the vast range, (and there really is a vast ironmongery range!) but because I really didn’t know what I could feature on the blog.

But then once the panic subsided I discovered the wonderful array of door handles and door knobs and knew I just had to try a few out. Now you may think I’m a little bonkers here, but bear with me. I believe that a room is never quite finished until you’ve updated your plug sockets and your door handles. Honestly!

Old versus New

We have very old internal doors in our home. Well they look old, but I doubt they’re original 19th Century like the rest of the house, more likely they were added in the 1980’s. When we moved in they had very traditional china flowery handles so when we first decorated we changed them for £10 satin stainless steel door knobs that succeeded in mixing the old with the new. And it worked very well.

Now www.ironmongerydirect.co.uk offered me some of these lovely Jedo Door Knobs made with a frosted glass finish, and satin metal plate. The looked far superior to the handles we already had and indeed they are. We have 2 sets installed now and they are fabulous. Slightly larger than the previous handles, much more stylish and very modern. The quality is just superb and they are going to last longer than the doors I would imagine. Cast from glass with solid brass bases, they are finished in a high quality chrome plate. We went for a satin chrome finish but they’re available in polished chrome and polished brass too.

Never underestimate how much of a difference a finishing touch like new door handles will make to your room. These have really added something a little extra to the Dining Room makeover and we are very pleased with them.

Oooh, these look lovely! My favourite finishing touch is putting stuff up in the walls. Photos, prints, framed cushion covers (seriously – in our front room). I think hanging frames makes a room feel complete.
