I am a great fan of blinds. Don’t get me wrong, I love my curtains too but there’s something about the sleek, uncluttered finish that a blind brings to a window that draws me in every time. Some people don’t like pattern, others can’t live with bold colours, and some have to had wooden floors throughout the house. There are things we are intrinsically drawn to, much of the time not being able to explain why, and my love of blinds is one of those things.
The blinds I’ve been looking at today are from Blinds UK, an online shop selling made to measure wooden blinds, roman or roller blinds, vertical and venetian blinds and bespoke curtains as window coverings. Their range seems extensive and I’ve had great fun looking through the site picking out just a few of my favourites.
The orange roller blinds in the top image are very retro and I love the way they have been showased here, against a darker, opposite colour. It’s a striking colour combo and enhances the blind pattern beautifully. Mid century patterns and colourings are becoming every popular and this particular style fits in very well with that. Another striking design has to be the monochrome birds on a tree shown in the bedroom lifestyle shot. Teaming with white walls and white accessories means the birds are well defined, highlighting the darker colour and pattern. It’s a very contemporary look, and very restful too. Of course, putting them in a more colourful setting would work just as well, and give a different final look.
Made to measure roman blinds from Blinds UK are popular too and I like the option of making these into black out blinds too. We all know how well these work for nurseries and young children’s rooms. In fact, I still have one up in one of the girls’ rooms still. Knowing that you can combine both style and practicality is great, and I’m impressed by the range on offer in all kinds of styles.
Being an online only store, the prices are very reasonable. You have to do the measuring of course, so you need to be confident in that, but there’s a nice FAQ that will help you and a sales team you can call too.
