Review and Giveaway: The Fatboy Lamzac Hangout

Lamzac Fatboy

Welcome to another week. And another giveaway. This time I’m collaborating with Houseology to bring you this incredible Fatboy Lamzac Hangout – the perfect accessory to your days out on picnics or at the beach.

I’m going to be really honest, and say I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this at all. I’ve often found products like that, that come folded in a little bag, impossible to refold and I end up throwing them in the back of the shed never to use them again.

But I’ve been road-testing the Hangout, putting it through its paces so I can report back to you so read on.

And if you’d like to be in with a chance to win one of these for yourself, check out the giveaway at the bottom of the post.

So, firstly, the Fatboy Lamzac Hangout arrives neatly folded in its own little carry sack. The strap is adjustable so anyone can carry it and it’s really not very heavy at all.

A new product from the Netherlands, this oblong outdoor inflatable seating option can be easily filled with the flick of a wrist using the Fatboy filling technique.

The husband and I took it out for a test session last week, whilst the sun was shining and the children were away for the week. It gave us the chance to chill out and relax in some pretty, and peaceful surroundings.

Lamzac hangoutAs you can see from the above images, it’s a two compartment inflatable sofa where you open one compartment, ‘swoosh’ it around and fill with air, closing quickly. Repeat with the other compartment, fasten the clips and the sofa is ready. It took us a couple of go’s to get it right, facing the right direction so the wind didn’t disturb our technique, but once you have this sorted, it fills in a matter of seconds.

Fatboy Lamzac HangoutAnd then you’re ready to enjoy. Made from a really tough Nylon material, it’s water-repellent and strong, holding upto 200kg. You can use it as a 2 seater sofa, or lie out on it like you would a lounger.

Sunny relaxation in the Hangout

I really do think I could get used to this!

I can see it coming in really handy, useful for extra garden seating, kids parties, picnics, days out at the park, outdoor concerts, camping and trips to the beach. I know this is going to be a regular in our packing for beach holidays around the UK.

But what about the folding up?

Well, unfasten the buckle clips, and from the non-opening end, start to roll tightly. The air is naturally expelled as you roll, and once complete fold in half and push back into the carry-bag. It was actually really simple and easy. And it worked!

Folding the Fatboy

Whilst it might look like I did all the lounging and the Husband did all the work, I did let him try it out! He’s just shy and doesn’t want to be in the photos.

It looks lovely and comfy, I wouldn’t be able to use it personally but I bet the hubby or the kids would love it.

I think that looks like a great idea! I totally love my outdoor beanbag, but it isn’t easily transportable, so that looks like the perfect solution.

Thanks for the review Jen, it’s awesome! I didn’t realize it was so small to carry and I was wondering if it was easy to fold. Now I know 🙂
