The B&Q Spring/Summer Preview Favourite Picks

Last week I went along to see what B&Q had to offer at their Spring/Summer preview. As you can imagine there was a big focus on the outdoors with some lovely seating and BBQ ranges being shown but that wasn’t all there was to see. I thought I’d show you some of my favourite bits.

Decor Styles:

B&Q showcased a few new decor styles. They’re probably updates on previous looks but I think they’ve got this just right. They told us that they are focusing more on offering the whole package and that stores will be stocking more home accessories next season which is a sensible way to go.

Paris Souvenir is a lovely French Vintage look with lots of options on cushions, soft furnishings and accessories that mix and match beautifully.

I love the colours, the detail and the feminine on trend print. Use some of these elements together to recreate this look, or pick one or two accessories and add to your current schemes.

My absolute favourite look is the Beach Hut decor look that B&Q that have put together for the coming season. Muted shades, a modern take on the coastal look, with fun accessories and lovely detail.

The coastal look just doesn’t seem to go away and I love this updated, very chic take on it. It’s stylish and muted and would suit lots of homes. The prices are very reasonable too from what I could see.

Valspar paint mixing was another new element to the preview. It’s being rolled out into all stores by the summer and it’s in lots already. I’ve not actually seen it yet but I have a complementary voucher to give it a go so watch this space! It’s a new paint mixing system allowing you to choose your colour by scanning in any colour you take along. It offers much more choice in terms of colour, and a more reasonable price than the current in store system. I’m looking forward to trying it out.

Then of course there was the Wallpaper selection. As ever I was particularly drawn to this section and liked the variety of the papers on offer. Some were more appealing than others but it was good to see B&Q embracing new trends and taking things away from the ordinary. This was my absolute favourite – what do you think?

And then there we some lovely Vintage butterflies too which I’m sure will be popular.

Of course, the Spring not too far away (let’s hope!) B&Q were showcasing some lovely outdoor furniture. Bang on trend, great pricing and a very well thought out selection from what I could see. Even if you don’t want to use this on your patio, I think it would look great in a conservatory.

So there you go, some of my favourite bits from the preview. I was really impressed with what I saw. Some lovely styling, great pieces and understanding some of the background, research and thought that goes into choosing these producst helped me appreciate them more. I hope you like them too.

Thanks to B&Q for inviting me to the preview and for the Goody Bag.

Wow! who would have thought that B&Q could be quite so inspiring! I love that country style and it is so easy to achieve with the right soft furnishings. It is a look which you just can’t go wrong with.

While we can’t possibly compete with such a huge mega-chain, we are proud to be opening our own little showroom showcasing our glassware (see the blog for info)and the thought of getting our products in a huge store like that would be a dream!!

    All the best
