Real Living: My Favourite Room with Becky Goddard-Hill

Welcome to another brand new feature on Love Chic Living where I’m going to be showcasing some real homes. I love looking at images and styled shots to get inspiration. Sites like Pinterest give me lots of ideas on how I’d love to style my own home but often it can be very daunting and sometimes demoralising when we can’t recreate everything we see. So the Real Living series is going to look at real homes and take a closer look at how we really live.

‘My Favourite Room’ looks at one room in the home and why it is so loved. We can find out much more about someone and they way they live from this one photo, and hopefully it will inspire you so share what you love about your home. We can see how we all really live, what drives us to decorate and accessorise our homes in a certain way, and what makes a room so special to us.

And so over to our first featured room from Becky who writes at Family Budgeting:

real people's homes

Becky says about her lounge:

I have chosen to show you this room because it makes me happy.

It is full of light and colour, my adored books and our family games. It is comfortable  and it is fresh and it’s where we as a family spend most of our together time. This room makes me smile.

Becky’s lounge does look really light and bright, helped partly by the light reflecting through the chimney breast mirror. The room looks ordered and organised so it must be really relaxing and restful to spend time in there. The neutral walls keep the scheme calm and create the perfect background for all the books, whilst the red sofa lifts the room by adding vibrancy and warmth.

Thanks so much to Becky for sharing her room with us.

What do you think of the new feature? Would like your favourite room to be showcased next?

Drop me a line at jen@lovechicliving.co.uk if you would like to take part.
