Transform your living room with Akupanels

If you experience reverb in your living room, you really want to eliminate that. Not only is reverb annoying, it can also cause headaches and can make you a bit irritable.

Akupanels are a great way to end reverb in your living room. These wooden panels end the soundwave once it hits the wall, making sure the sound cannot travel freely through the room anymore. Not only are akupanels useful when it comes to eliminating reverb, they look stylish as well. This is how you can transform your living room using akupanels.

Choose your akupanel

Choose the akupanel that fits your living room. The most common akupanel is made of wooden slats. A minimalistic or Scandinavian looking interior asks for light coloured wood, whereas dark coloured wood is ideal for a living room with a more classical look.

If you want something else than the standard wooden slats, you can choose to go for little hexagon shapes on the wall as well. That can give a very playful touch to the wall in your living room. If you want to get inspired, take a look at Acoustic Panels Ireland.

Placement

Finding the right place in the room for your akupanel is a fun and creative text. Ideally you go for the emptiest wall in the room, to make sure you eliminate as much reverb as possible.

You can choose to cover all of the wall with your akupanel, or to cover just a part of the wall. Think of the wall behind the couch or behind the TV. You can make it even cosier by touching up your akupanels with photo frames or posters or by adding some green.

How to install your akupanel

Placing the akupanels is relatively easy and you don’t need to be a handyman to do it. Make sure you use something like a carpenter’s square, to be certain you install your panels as straight as possible.

There are two options when it comes to adjusting the wooden panels to the wall. You can use special glue to adjust the slats to the wall or you use screws. The last option takes longer, but using screws instead of glue makes your panels re-usable. If you ever were to move to a different place, you’d be able to take your panels with you, whereas with glue that’s not an option.
