  2. 1st of November!! Very early! But its part of a very very old and very lovely tradition in my family, and one we love and have done for decades. Means we get the most of our decorations! Plus it takes about a month to get them all up lol.

  7. I don’t have a Christmas tree, as my lounge is quite small, but I am planning on buying something a bit ‘alternative’ so I can display decorations this year 🙂

  21. I like to put our tree up on 1 December if possible. A
We collect it from the Christmas tree farm near us

  22. The 1st of December a day before my daughters birthday.
I absolutely love those decorations they’re so pretty.
    Great blog.

  23. It was always the first Sunday in December, but I have to admit to getting earlier and earlier every year. I notice others doing the same. My theory is that Christmas is a break from the bleakness of reality, and as things in the world get more and more messy then people inevitably look towards any escapism they can get! I’m all for putting the decorations up whenever you want to. If it brings you joy then why the heck not. 🙂

  24. When I first have a day off work in December, I like to be festive and drink baileys while I’m decorating!

  30. Usually on the 9th December, as it’s my partners birthday on the 8th and she doesn’t like it up before her birthday. I am very slowly wearing her down to put it up slightly earlier.

  31. The Friday that the children finish school early for Christmas – it’s our tradition – the 3 of us do it together, with a Christmas film on in the background.

  32. Our son’s birthday is a week before Christmas and we always put them up the day after – that way he gets a proper birthday celebration.

  33. About a week before Christmas Day. However, with lovely baubles like these I’d be tempted to put it up much earlier, just so I can show them off for longer!

  34. Sometimes as early as the third week in November because we all love Christmas so much and including a tree in the conservatory and bedrooms it can take a week to do it! But certainly by the beginning of December…it includes the hall and stairway and each year I change the theme and add lovely new things too…

  35. I usually put the decorations up at the start of december to get maxium time because it takes a while to do it so I want to enjoy it for as long as possible.

  36. We usually put ours up on 14th December. Any earlier than that then the grandchildren become over excited to start and are then bored with the decorations before Christmas arrives.

  37. As we usually spend Chistmas abroad we now put up our tree in early December so our daughter can get maximum enjoyment from it! The date depends on when I manage to get my husband to go out and buy it!!

  38. As my birthday is 6 December, my mum always used to wait until the week after it to put the Christmas tree up, so I could enjoy my birthday and not be distracted by Christmas! I still carry on that tradition to this day!!

  39. We put our tree up on the last Saturday before Christmas that is at least a week away from the big day. Real tree, 6foot plus with hundreds of de orations that we have bought on our travels over the years.

  40. Usually Xmas eve eve but have been known to leave it until xmas eve. Friends used to come round and were horrified the tree wasn’t up but it was a ruse to get them to help put it up as it’s always better to do that with other people and make it a sociable event.

  41. I start asking for the decorations to come down from the loft. The other half gets them down from the loft around the 23rd

  42. Usually the first week of December. I love going to choose a tree at our local farm. It’s always fun trying to get it home!

  43. I haven’t had a tree for many years but I am determined to have one this year, December first, I am reclaiming Christmas

  54. It’s a mini one in a pot so it stays in the garden over most of the year. We bring it in at the start of december

  55. We leave it until after our daughter’s birthday because that is at the beginning of December so like to keep that separate. Thank you.
