A few months ago I was asked to contribute a short interiors or design style tip for an article that the lovely Amara Living were putting together. You may remember a while ago that I ran a giveaway with a fabulous garden cacoon prize from Amara which was so popular so I was more than happy to contribute one of my tips for their article.
Amara Living have pulled together some brilliant top tips from the world of interior design and interiors blogging. And the fantastic thing is, all of the tips are about 100 characters long; bite size chunks of home and style goodness all wrapped up in one gorgeous place. You can find the featured tips from experts such as George Clarke and Kevin McCloud of Grand Designs Live fame, as well as expert interiors blogger Will from Bright Bazaar.
Then we move onto the Planning section which is where I come in. There are all kinds of tips here from making moodboards, using Pinterest, and decorating in a timeless style. The list really does go on and on.
There are room specific tips like:
Kelly Davies, Interior Designer
“Introduce the colour yellow in a Dining Room which is regularly used for entertaining, this bright colour will stimulate conversation”
and there are lots of ideas on lighting too. I love this one from Stuart Wilson, Interior Architect and Design Blogger:
And then of course, there are a myriad of Interior design tips for finishing touches:
Karen Howes, Interior Designer
“Art is the soul of the home so invest in a few key pieces that you totally love and from time to time move them around it gives a whole new look”
Ally, Interiors Blogger
“Adding one accessory that is oversized and out of proportion will make a room far more interesting”
Vicki Murdoch, Founder of Silken Favours
“You can never have too many cushions”
Wow! You can see the full Amara Living 100+ Interior Design tips article here. It really is a must read for those of you decorating or doing up your home.
A big thank you to Amara for including me, I feel really honoured to be amongst such amazing company!
