Last year I had a great time speaking at the Autumn Fair, and wrote a post on what to expect from the fair for interiors, those exhibiting and general exciting trends for home decor. This year I’m thrilled to be collaborating once more with the Autumn Fair 2017 showcasing some of my favourite exhibitors in the Contemporary Living and Gift sections.
If you don’t know, the Autumn Fair is the season’s most attended home and gifting trade event. It aims to be trend-led, fresh and inspirational, providing many opportunities for buyers from all types of retailers to source and learn about new products. This is how the next season’s on-trend home and interior ranges are shaped, and how they hit our shops.
Key attendees at the show include Amazon, Asda, Homebase, John Lewis, Joy, Paperchase, Moonpig and Wowcher (just to name a few). Plus workshops and seminars provide the audience with further trend inspiration, including the fabulous Martin Holland (Great Interior Design Challenge winner), with a full timetable HERE.
I’ve been doing a little digging around the Autumn Fair 2017 list of exhibitors to find some of my favourites, and those I think will lead to next season’s interiors and home trends.
Key Trends at the Autumn Fair 2017
Bombay Duck || Cubic Products || Pad Home || Shearer Candles || Lund London || Eclectic Lifestyle Company
Pad Home, where design should be fun as well as practical, aiming to provide customers with the best in contemporary design for the home and workplace.
Shearer Candles from Glasgow is the longest established lifestyle candle company. This family business prides itself on providing beautiful, high quality candles that use only the best ingredients.
Talking Tables is a favourite of mine and I’m thrilled to see them exhibiting at the fair. Their partyware products are inspiring and innovative, and they continue to excite and lead the way in this niche.
Lola Design’s Wildlife Botanical Art is a collection of fine art designs, all designed and made here in the UK.
The Eclectic Lifestyle Company and the Paddywax Mesa Collection. A stylish range of candles where each matte speckled ceramic vessel is topped with an embossed dust cover. Once you finish burning the candles, you can use them as a stackable cream and sugar pottery set
What do you think of some of these choices?
Obviously you don’t see the goods until you are at the fair, but based on last year’s event, there are some stunning homewares and interiors on show, as well as some incredible workshops and talks giving buyers the best knowledge about the coming seasons.
Whilst this fair isn’t for homeowners or the general public, what happens here shapes the goods on offer in our favourite stores. This is the beginning of the journey for many products that will eventually find their way onto your shelves and into your homes. How exciting is that?
The Autumn Fair 2017 will return to Birmingham’s NEC from 3rd-6th September.
