A little while ago I went to visit Clas Ohlson at one of their stores in Manchester. It’s not a brand I’m too familiar with but I was blown away by their story, their passion and most importantly, their products. So much so that I’ve decided to showcase some of my favourite pieces from their range to you today. I’d love to know what you think. I do believe you’ll be amazed by their style, the collection and the prices.
All of the products I’ve used in this post can be found on their website, with links to their pages at the bottom of the article.
First up, I was captivated by the Clas Ohlson range of lighting. What you see here is the Base Table/Wall light in Copper which retails at just £9.99. So you can either stand it on the table as I have, or use the fittings to attach it to the wall. Then all you need is to add one of their very cool decorative light bulbs, designed with a new technology to simulate antique-style incandescent bulbs. I went for quite a large Globe style which retails for just £9.99 too. So the whole lamp was just under £20 – bargain!
At the front of the picture you’ll see the graphic geometric style candle lantern which I adore. I have a few of these styled lanterns now, which often double up as mini plant holders, great for a cactus or two. This one is again in copper and sells for £6.99.
Clas Ohlson isa Swedish retailer as you may have guessed, founded as a mail order company in 1918. In fact they are the No.1 Retailer in Sweden. In the UK they have a much smaller presence but that is growing and in the next few years expect to see more and more Clas Ohlson stores popping up. They obviously have elements of the Ikea style you’re used to, but their stores are much different. As well as home styling and accessories, they cater for gardeners, travellers, DIYers and handymen/women. There’s even a toy section and a collection for the stationery lover. Stylish, practical and with an eye on trends they are definitely one to watch on the high street in the coming years.
Take this little Concrete Candle Lantern, bang on trend, and great value at just £3.99. You wouldn’t mind buying a set of 3 and making quite a feature of them. Perfect for tealights or little scented candles.
Kitchen items and storage play a big part in the Clas Ohlson homewares section, and I was taken with these preserving jars. I’ve decided to use them in my office for decorative storage as they seemed too pretty to hide away, but at just a few pounds each you could fill whole shelves with them.
I have been hunting for stylish new laundry basket for ages and found the perfect one at Clas Ohlson on my visit. This is ideal for the loft bedroom and works easily with the decor in there. I also love that it’s on wheels and won’t scratch the wooden floor. I’ve been wanting something sleek and contemporary and just couldn’t find the right thing until I spotted this one. And of course, at just £13.99 it’s a great price too.
Storage features strongly at Clas Ohslon and, like everything else they manage to do this stylishly. Walking around their Manchester store I spotted this cute little set and had to try them out. A set of 3 woven bamboo baskets in a very on trend ombre finish.
They’re very rigid and sturdy with inset handles and would look fabulous in the bedroom or office. I’m using one as a bin, one as storage for my hairdryer and the other in the living room actually! But the how you use them is completely up to you. They usually retail for £19.99, but at the time of writing I’m seeing them reduced slightly to £14.99.
Don’t they look stunning? Where would you use them in your home?
All of the products I’ve used in this post can be found on the Clas Ohlson website and delivered direct to your home. Alternatively of course, you can nip into one of their stores if you have one local to you, and hunt them out in person.

Absolutely love Clas Ohlson and cannot believe sometimes that they’re in the uk! These bits above so lovely, and they have really good pieces for those who want Scandi or minimalist nursery / kids interior items!

Clas Olsen is new to me but if the pieces you’ve picked out are an indication of the rest of their site there will be some real interior finds. Baskets and concrete lanterns are definitely on my wish-list!
Love the sound of this retailer, and those woven baskets are gorgeous! Off to have a look…
