How To Style Up Your Heating Controls

So if you’re wondering what on earth the title is all about today, you have to read on. It’s so important to get the little finishing touches right when you’re decorating, and if I tell you I hide my portable heating control behind a plant pot you’ll understand what I was keen to share today’s guest post with you. Enjoy!

Heating controls have become a style staple for the modern living space. No longer the outdated plastic dial that you have to manually change, smart thermostats are attractive in appearance with high resolution screens and sleek designs. The ability to turn your heating on from your smart phone or tablet is becoming a modern convenience that more homes are incorporating.

The technologies that these devices feature help you control your heating with your phone from anywhere. The most premium models can even learn your heating habits and set your preferred temperatures at particular times of the day without you having to lift a finger.

The choices are boundless as you can select universal devices such as the Nest Learning Thermostat which is compatible with a number of heating systems. You can also select brand specific thermostats such as the Worcester Wave which is designed to be compatible with specific boilers.

Intelligent thermostats are a great style addition to any home, offering contemporary design and an aesthetically pleasing digital LCD screen to display your current heating temperature.

Some brands such as the Nest Learning Thermostat are available in a variety of colours and finishes such as stainless steel or copper to suite the design of every home.

Modern thermostats have been redesigned to become a feature in the home, rather than an ugly necessity that you’d rather hide away. The attractive user interface and crisp display features optimises usability and contemporary style.

These powerful devices are minimalist in style and functionality. The easy to use App functions and fast installation of these devices makes smart thermostats a straightforward addition to your home. Unobtrusive designs mean they can be placed anywhere within the home.

Providing minimal impact on décor, a selection of smart thermostats even offer a choice of installation, either wall mounted or counter top when combined with a stand.

The Vaillant vSMART offers instant installation and is an ideal solution for modern heating as its minimalist electronic display compliments any contemporary living space.

Smart thermostats think for you. They learn as you heat, calculating what times of day you prefer it warmer, cooler and can even recognise when no one is in the house.

As they connect to the Wi-Fi, these highly intelligent devices use internet access to program the heating system in an energy efficient way.  They achieve this by reading weather reports and adjusting your heating schedule. Some devices even retain a history of your energy usage so you can keep track of your heating habits by providing you with monthly reports.

Money Saving

Smart Thermostats are not only attractive; they can save you money too. They can efficiently control the home heating system and offer reduced energy usage, consequently lowering your heating bills. The ‘away’ mode and the efficient leaf settings for the Nest helps encourage optimal heating and money saving simultaneously. By using a device that utilises the internet to control heating depending on the weather forecast, intelligent heating controls can prevent over-heating on warmer days. These devices are not only stylish but are a great way to reduce unnecessary energy usage.

And while you’re at it why not invest in a smart heating system too.

If you've never given much thought to how your heating control looks, and how fits in with the rest of your decor and decorating scheme, now is the time to start. They don't have to be ugly, in fact they can be a thing of beauty. I'm definitely getting one of these!

Ha, the post title did intrigue me! You are so right to bring this up, though – everyone seems to have the same unattractive white heating dial and they really don’t look great. If we can install snazzy light switches, why not the same for heating controls and the SMART ones in the photos look so much better and are more versatile I’m sure!
