The Latest Trend in Living Comfortably: Make your Home a Haven

If you feel that your home lacks some comfort, why not adopt some of the latest trends for modern and comfortable interior decorating ideas that turn the rooms into a charming and pleasant retreat.

A blend of neutral and colourful interior decoration is perfect for any house.

Find a scheme or colour palette that resonates with you and your personality and create an inviting home which makes you feel good and has a universal appeal to all those who reside there too.

Here are some of the most famous trends in the industry right now.

If you want to revamp your house with new flooring, then you’d be wise to choose laminate flooring for many reasons.

Laminate flooring has rapidly become one of the most popular consumers’ flooring preferences.

It’s perhaps less costly than hardwood, stone, or tile, but it’s not all about costs that make it a popular choice.

Laminate flooring can look just like wood style flooring that would usually be too delicate for everyday usage, and when you want to live comfortable, then you the last thing you want to worry about is a damaged floor.

Choose the Right Furniture

These days bulky and heavy furniture is not always as popular as it used to be.

Why not look for sophisticated sofas with minimalist designs in neutrals color. If you do want to add a little colour in your rooms, then try adding one dark-coloured sofa paired with all other neutral color sofas.

Don’t forget to accessorise cleverly with the curtains or blinds, a beautiful coffee table and some bright, welcoming art on the walls.

Wall Paint Options

Now I’m not suggesting you remove all colour from your home, far from it. You’ll know I’m a big fan of colour.

You may feel nervous of darker walls, but in fact, and heavier the colour, the more welcoming and comfortable a room can feel. The darker hue gives it much more atmosphere and a more cosy feel at night.

Darker wall paint isn’t everyone’s’ choice though, so if you prefer a paler paint, or even a feature wall, do it. Just remember to add interest with your accessories, test out your palette first via a moodboard or Pinterest and build your design stage by stage.

Get Some Comfortable Bean Bags

I love a good bean bag!

One of the major benefits of bean bags is that they are so cheap in comparison to other forms of seating so are a great way to add options to your living room.

Of course, they’re also portable so will give you lots of options across the home, from your den to a kid’s bedroom, the living room and even the kitchen.

Kids love them, but there are lots of adult versions too in bigger sizes – and you should be able to choose a good colour to complement your decor.

We have one that moves around from one bedroom to the dining den frequently and everyone loves relaxing in it. It really does add a level of comfort and relaxation you don’t get from other seating.

Some of the latest comfortable living decor trends are quite sophisticated, but, there are plenty of choices to make our experience at home individual and personal to us and our family. And now is the time to embrace it.

These really are lovely designs and an inspiration. We all do need the re-assurance of warm co-ordinated colours right now, to help us relax when our minds tend to be racing with all the consequences of the global pandemic.

My wife and I just started to redecorate one of our bedrooms today, and will be working while locked-down all weekend, to remove an accumulation of multiple layers of wallpaper going back 40 years of the previous ownership. It’s hard work with a steam stripper! There is a heavy anaglypta wallpaper over other paper layers all to remove. We will then emulsion paint the walls.

Looking at this we have found in our storage cupboard unused emulsion paint colours “Egyptian Cotton” and “Perfectly Taupe” which I think will give us the neutral wall colours similar to these schemes. The bedding will be order and will reflect the light pink and light green of the sofas and cushions.

Our new carpet will be grey or even black, because we do like the idea of a contrast in the way your “bean bags” image shows.

Many thanks for your article. It is an inspiration for us.
