Pangaea Home came about out of non-wasteful attitude to life and a passion for homeware.

“We look to find suppliers who produce sustainable and eco-friendly products that you will typically buy for your home and garden. Where we cannot find someone making a sustainable option, we will look to make it ourselves.”

Many of use now try to live a more conscious life in terms of impact on the planet, and doing that in our homes is a big part of that commitment. Whether you choose to recycle, buy preloved items or seek out eco friendly, sustainable homewares is an individual choice but one that companies like Pangaea Home are making easier.

2 tone coloured vase

I’ve highlighted a few home accessories from their offer that have caught my eye. From beautiful vases that start at £5 to these glass vases in various styles and shades. The glass, of course, can be widely recycled when the time comes.

We all need to take personal responsibility for the amount of homewares we buy, where they come from, the materials and manufacturing processes used, and how our choices can be recycled or reused in the future.

What Pangaea Home is showing is that these choices don’t have to blow the budget – a fact that used to deter home lovers from making conscious choices in the past.

They have some great rugs coming in at around or under £40 for example and some very affordable dining pieces in beautiful pastel shades that are bang on trend.

  1. I’m currently trying to switch all of my cleaning products to eco friendly/natural ones, for household cleaning and laundry too.

  2. We have just purchased Solar panels with a battery, big purchase but seeing big savings already 🙂

  3. I’d love solar panels, eco friendly appliances and a more eco solution to heating our home than our old gas boiler.

    1. Cleaning products all eco friendly I love the solar phone chargers too they are amazing

  4. Solar panels are starting to seem more and more like a good idea to help save money and the planet

  5. Really love those 2 tone coloured vases on the page, absolute stunning would be perfect for propagating my mozaic plant cuttings.

  6. We have solar panels fitted but I’m trying to be more sustainable with food by trying to use everything rather than buying more and binning stuff. I would love a veg plot

  7. I would like to create less waste! I hate that so many products are wrapped in plastic, and although I try to avoid them where possible I could be doing more. Currently, I have swapped to more natural cleaning products. I hate using bleach unless necessary anyway, although I swapped out some chemical cleaners for Ecover (and the gallon refills live under my kitchen sink!), or I mostly use lemon scented white vinegar. Vinegar leaves all my windows, mirrors, and sinks looking bright and shiny without the sick feeling afterwards that I used to get from inhaling strong chemical based products 🙂

  8. I think as we’re trying to be more eco friendly in the products we purchase, having teenagers, the next step is naturally electric usage. Maybe by installing solar panels and way to cut electricity down is the way to go now

  9. Recently had extra loft insulation and cavity wall insulation. We can’t feel any difference to the warmth of the house however, but we’ve tried!

  10. I really wish I could turn the thermostat down, but with a 25ft non-cavity wall in the main room that’s north facing, it’s tough!

    1. Would love more eco friendly products, like toothbrushes, and recycle more, reuse and stop plastic build up

  11. I have so many plans! I would love solar panels and an air source heat pump, they’re top of my wish list! These items are so beautiful.

  12. I’d love to install solar panels but it’s rental home for now, so will have to wait a bit

  13. I want to ditch all those paper towels on a roll and save some tree’s, I will use cloth towels to wipe up in the future.

  14. I’d like (and am going to ) set up a better recycling system, with a better understanding of what can go into recycling. I’d like the whole family to embrace recycling properly and reduce our waste.

  15. We have just moved into a house with solar panels. I am now looking at buying eco friendly cleaning products including shampoo etc. They seem to be getting good reviews.

  16. I’m in the process of switching most things to reusable – cleaning products are next so refillable bottles and buying the capsules instead etc

  17. I have swapped my regular cleaning products for eco friendly brands but next want to look at how furniture and furnishings are produced. Are loads of chemicals used? Are they imported? Are animal products used? It’s not easy to get answers to these questions.

  18. We have started to grow our own fruit and veg from the seeds that come off what we have already bought, i must admit its quite exciting

  19. We are already pretty eco-friendly – we have solar panels, good insulation, grow our own fruit and vegetables and make our own compost and recycle most of our waste!

  20. I’d love solar panels but we now live in a flat so I don’t have control over the building. Instead I am concentrating on interior changes that I can make

  21. I’d love to get solar panels installed, however as I live in a flat, I don’t think it would be possible. 🙁

  22. I’d love solar panels, but realistically I think a water butt is going to be my first green purchase as I can afford it.

  23. I’d love solar panels. Weve made lots of changes already including reuseable nappies and wipes but solar would be a game changer

  24. To be honest we’re already rather eco.
Solar panels, loads of recycling, food hero on olio, and reusing (or Freegling) anything useful.

  25. I’m trying to buy less plastic packaging, including shampoo and shower gel (now we use bar soap and shampoo bars) and in the kitchen too, such as looking out for loose fruit/veg and choosing glass jars/tins where possible instead of plastic packets.

  26. I would like to have a more sustainable home by purchasing products that last and are better for the environment.
We are all trying to move away from “fast fashion” and this should be the same for what we fill our hones with.

  27. I want to swap all of my disposible cleaning products to long lasting sustainable ones – no more kitchen towel or dish clothes

  28. To eventually be completely zero-waste / plastic, and to finally ONLY use reusable packaging/bags/storage for food etc.

  29. I’d like to use more eco friendly appliances, however mine are fine at the moment so I don’t want to get rid of them causing more damage to the planet (as I’m buying more for the sake of it)

  30. We already try and use eco versions of things like cleaning products, use a laundry ball, vinegar as a softener – but would love to be able to use greener choices of bedding/soft furnishings when it comes to changing these

  31. I would like a new boiler as ours is ancient and can’t be good for the environment

  32. we’ve been looking into having a heat pump installed in place of a boiler when our boiler needs replacing – it’s sounding impressive with it’s eco credentials! We’ve also insulated really well – walls, loft and also added draught excluders around the doors too. Really want to reduce our overall plastic consumption – recently did “the big plastic count” and 94% of our plastic was from food packaging so that is an area I want to improve on.

  33. I would love solar panels, better insulation and thick curtains to keep heat in or out

  34. I’d love my house to be more eco-friendly uspport has to be given in these very trying times.

  35. Although I take clothing that I no longer want to second hand shops, I’ve been seeking ways to use the material from clothing or bedding which would not be useful to someone else. Therefore, I want to learn how to make rag rugs rather than just use them as dusters.

  36. I would love to have solar panels. I am using energy efficient light bulbs, and I want to do more

  37. I’d like to grow more of my own food. We’re growing a few new things this year but I’d like to be more self sufficient.

  38. I have a cupboard full of non eco friendly cleaning products. I can’t afford to ditch them but when anything is used I am replacing with greener options as I am doing with all my purchases nowadays

  39. I’ve already changed a lot in the last twenty years from installing solar panels to having lots of water butts to never using cleaning chemicals etc. I guess if I could afford it i’d love to put in a ground source heat pump system.

  40. Use more eco friendly natural cleaning products and mineral makeup. Recycle all I can and try to buy less stuff in the first. Ask myself do I really need it. Switch points off at the mains when not in use and try to use the gas less.

  41. I’d love to invest in solar panels but the start up costs are too expensive for us right now.

  42. I’m now composting all of our veg @ fruit scraps. Next year we hope to get solar panels

  43. We still use too much one use plastics, so we need to start cutting down and swapping to alternative options.

  44. We’ve had solar panels installed a few years ago now. Would love one of those fancy composting bins for the kitchen that mulches down everything into soil.
