I know we’re all immersed in the Christmas swing right now, but I’ve started to think a little about the New Year, and the projects we will be undertaking at home. It’s really exciting and I can’t wait to get the attic conversion underway. I know I won’t be happy with the disruption, the mess and the devastation it’s going to cause, but I’m just going to focus on the end result, and try to enjoy the process.
So, with this in mind, I’ve been thinking about what bargains I can pick up ready for the decoration. The Winter sales are just about to start, some started over the weekend, so it’s a good time to shop, if you have spare cash leftover from your Christmas spending.
Bargain Shopping Wishlist:
As well as a shower unit, sink and loo, I’m looking for some bathroom accessories to give the small space a textured, industrial feel. I can see it very clearly in my head so need to find some images and products that will depict the look to those around me. I’ve had my eye on this copper bathroom mirror with shelf for a while now, and think it would work really well. Fingers crossed it goes into the sale!
Dressing Table Area:
When the attic is complete, it’s going to be a main bedroom and en-suite for the adults! No children allowed. Well, what I mean is, I want it to be an adult hideaway, a retreat from the rest of the house, where I can go to relax. One thing I really want is a dressing table, where I can sit, look out of the window as I get ready for the day. I don’t have one currently, so it’s high on my priority list. For a long time, I’ve loved the Fonteyn over at made.com so I’m hoping for a bargain offer very soon.
You can always rely on the sales if you’re looking for new bedding sets can’t you? I’ve always managed to find a few bargains for the bed even though I’m a bit loathe to commit to a colour or scheme right now, when the plans aren’t even finalised. But it would be madness not to take advantage of the great prices. I found this one above in the Urban Outfitters sale today, and I love it! Maybe I’ll just go for something plain and simple though, so it can be dressed later in the day when I’ve a clearer idea of the colour scheme. I’m also keeping a watch on the flash sales at DealStar Direct to see what comes up in the next few weeks. Their ‘home and garden’ section offers discounts of up to 90% on handy homeware, cool gadgets and more.
In keeping with the industrial theme, I’m very much loving the Plumen light, one of which I have in my hallway already. I think they’d look great hung from the angled ceiling about the bed, as sidelights. I just have to convince the other half, that he thinks they’re a good idea too!
Do you love to shop for bargains in the Winter Sale? Are you planning to buy anything for a future project?
