As you may have guessed from yesterday’s post here, I’ve been finishing off the house renovations by creating my very own little home office. The furniture has been in for a week now, and I can’t tell you the difference it’s making to how I work, and how I feel about working. It’s quite something.
I’m going to give you a full room tour very soon, but in the meantime I wanted to show you this fabulous Strava office chair that I’ve reviewed for Lakeland Furniture.
I’ll be the first to admit that I often buy home pieces more for their aesthetics than their functionality, and I was warring internally about what kind of chairs to put in the office. We have two desks in there and some storage, so I can work comfortably and the husband can use his pc in the evenings if he wants to. We’ve actually found the children wanting to use it at the moment as it’s all new, but I’m sure the novelty will wear off. Anyway, the chairs needed to be practical but I really wanted them to look good too.
That’s when I came across the Strava collection. In faux leather, they’re easy to keep clean and available in a variety of colours. They are height adjustable which is great for me and my little legs, and softly padded too. Whilst the back doesn’t recline, the chair does have a little swing or bounce when you lean back allowing you to sink into the seat more giving an extra comfort edge. And as you can see from the pictures, it sits on wheels allowing easy movement around the room. In fact, the carpet keeps them securely in place whereas I think they’d roll a lot more freely on a wooden floor.
But what I really love about the Strava office chair is that I’ve found a great looking chair that is actually comfortable to sit in, and protects my back and neck. It’s made working at my desk in the new office a complete pleasure, and I have a renewed spring in my step when I think of work. Couple that with the fact that I can look out of the window and my days are suddenly a lot more inspiring.
The chair retails at £94.99 but at the time of writing is currently on sale at £79.99 each which I think is a pretty good price. It’s incredibly sturdy and well made and is going to last many years. One thing I might like is an adjustment on the arm covers which slip around slightly, leaving me with a tendency to fiddle with them. I’m definitely going to have to fight that urge so it stays in good condition.
Overall a big thumbs up from me. What do you think of them? Don’t they look great? If white isn’t for you, don’t worry they’re available in lots of other colours including grey and black.
