17 Sage Green Living Room Ideas You’ll Want To Steal

In this article we’ll cover various sage green living room ideas and look at how this versatile shade can play a major role in your living room decor. Whether you’re debating on painting an entire room in sage green shades, or want a sage green pop of color here and there, we have lots of home decor suggestions to help you choose your next sage green color palette.

Sage green is a wonderful color to use in a sitting room. It has a calming quality, creates a serene atmosphere and bring a natural feel to any room.  It’s no wonder it’s having a huge revival at the moment; many paint brands like Benjamin Moore have named it color of the year, and with good reason.

So let’s discuss how you can create a sage green living room in your own home.

Sage Green Walls

These days, wall panelling like this is a very accessible DIY and makes your home super elevated.

In this living room space, it makes a great backdrop for that beautiful pink sofa and is complimented by other wooden accents like a mid-century style coffee table and a large, statement mirror. This room is paired back in terms of furnishings, accessories, and colour but still packs a big, chic punch – every element is considered and beautiful.

2. Sage Green Accent Wall

This is a very light sage green accent wall, but it works beautifully with the metallic accessories, and the gold sofa. It’s a surprising color palette but one that feels rich and calm at the same time. It’s a real winner for me, and I’d decorate a living space, or even a bedroom like this in a heartbeat.

Statement Sofas

3. Sage Green and Pink

Velvet sofas have been all the rage and this pink one is especially fantastic. I have a velvet sofa in my home and believe me, it is super comfortable and super easy to take care of!

Pink and green is a color combination I will always come back to. In this beautiful room, I love the choice of a bright pink against a very light sage background. The earthy, dusty tones of both colors, along with a pale wooden floor and gold accents, ties the room together for a minimal and chic scheme.

4. Sage Green Velvet Sofa

The perfect sage green corner sofa here in a large square room accenting onto a neutral based color scheme. The pops of colour come in the art, but the real star of the show is the sofa.

5. Sage Green Chaise Longue

There’s nothing more striking than a chaise longue in a living space, and add one in sage green and you’ve got a winning formulae. I adore this whole setup. From the pops of yellow and orange, to the warmth of the grey and blue, this room is calm, cool and inviting.

6. Sage Green Armchair

This chair might be bordering on forest green, or even emerald, but a dark sage green chair like this make a real wow factor in any living room.

If you have the space, a beautiful armchair looks great in the living room. Pick a spot where it can be a focal point – like a bay window – and dress it up with cushions and a side table, or maybe a storage basket like this example.

7. Sage Green Throws

If you’re not sure about adding sage green into your living room and just want a few accents colors, try adding a beautiful sage green throw to your sofa or accent armchair.

8. Sage Green Pillows

Another way to add pops of sage green color into your living room is with pillows and cushions. Try them in a variety of shades to add depth and interest and of course, use different patterns and prints too. Sage green doesn’t have to be a bold statement in your living space and simple touches of the shade can enhance your existing color scheme.

9. Sage Green Living Room Rugs

Don’t forget the floor! Adding a sage green rug to your living room is another easy and immediate way to bring this colorway into your home. I love a rug for adding a finishing touch to any room I’m decorating, and with the variety of sage green shades on offer you’re bound to find one you love.

10. Light Sage Green Living Room

A light sage green living room aesthetic is easy to achieve. Farrow and Ball Mizzle is a lovely light sage green paint shade which has a calming, serene feel and looks wonderful in any living room setting.

11. Warm Sage Green Living Room

If you prefer a deeper, richer sage green then you could try Farrow and Ball Green Smoke – it’s a dark, smoky green blue and was a very popular color in the 19th century. It evokes calm and serenity when used indoors and comes in the Dead Flat Matt finish too for a contemporary look.

12. Rustic Sage Green Living Room

A deep and warm sage green sofa looks just the part in rustic interiors. The natural hues of natural materials like wood and rattan pair perfectly with the subtle shade of sage green.

13. Modern Sage Green Living Room

Equally, sage green walls pair wonderfully with an ultra modern and contemporary living space. Modern color palettes pair sage green with pinks, with monochrome and with earthy tones too, evoking eye catching interior design suitable for many new build and older homes alike.

14. Sage Green and Pink Living Room

One of my favorite sage green living room color palettes is green and pink.

Sage green pairs so beautifully with all shades of pink, as we can see in the image above. A sage green and pink living room is calming, serene and elegant, yet nods to a playful twist on a normally sombre base hue. The pink adds a taste of Barbiecore which is incredibly popular right now, and the whole look is one that’s easy to live with, and simply to style.

15. Sage Green and Gray Living Room

A sage green and gray living room has a unique serenity and calming influence about it, that we don’t see too often in other color palettes. Here the softness of the cool shades is enhanced with luxurious accessories in varying textures.

16. Sage Green and Terracotta Living Room

Terracotta is going to have a moment next year, I predict! Whilst we may give it a new name, this warm, rich shade is going to embody the move towards more earthy, chocolate based tones in our home decor. Here we see it paired beautifully with sage green – opposites on the color wheel and naturals when paired together in a living room space.

17. Sage Green and Neutrals Living Room

I don’t think we’ll ever move away from our love of neutral home interiors and quite rightly. They play an integral part in how we decorate our homes, and offer easy to live with shades that work effortlessly with other colors. Sage green with a neutral color scheme is a very natural way of introducing this wonderful shade into your home.
