A Sherry Is NOT Just for Christmas #BestChilled

Something a little different for you today. I’ve collaborated with a brand I wouldn’t normally work with but the product evoked such strong emotions and memories for me that it felt like a good fit.

Today I’m sharing my love of sherry! Now I’m not advocating drinking alcohol, but I do enjoy a drink and so I have no problem sharing these ideas. Just remember people – drink responsibly.

When I was young my lovely Nan used to come to us on Christmas day. She’d arrive mid morning after my Dad would collect her, and once settled we’d crack open the Harveys Bristol Cream sherry and give her a Christmas drink.

It was her favourite and for years after she passed away I still enjoyed a little sherry tipple on Christmas morning in her memory. I often still do.

Now the sherry in our house has always been Harveys The Bristol Cream- it’s the go-to sherry right?

Well the time has come to think differently about your sherry.

After a wonderful rebranding, a stylish new bottle and some great new advice on how to enjoy your sherry, we can now enjoy this drink at any time of year.

Firstly, keep your sherry bottle in the fridge. It’s best enjoyed at the cooler temperature of 12 degrees. Just like they do in Spain.

The bottle even has a thermochromic ink logo which changes colour when it hits the perfect serving temperature. How cool is that!

Your next task is to cut up some fresh orange and fill your glass with ice.

Pour over your sherry and add the orange.

You’re all set for a delicious aperitif before dinner, an easy drink at the end of the day or a cheeky tipple as you prepare the Sunday lunch.

I’d never tried my sherry in this way but I have to admit it’s a great way to drink it.

It’s much more fitting with our way of life now and if you like sherry, I think you’ll love this refreshing taste. I can actually imagine drinking this on a warm summer’s day out in the garden when the sun is shining, The orange and ice give it that fresh, summery feel.

For now though, I’m making the most of it at the end of the day.

My living room is my favourite place to relax in the evenings or at the weekend. We tend to keep it tidy (ish) so we can gather here and enjoy time together when we’re home from work.

And this is the place I’d be most likely to sit and relax with a drink before we eat dinner.

Where do you love to relax?

I think it’s really important to have a space in your home that helps you unwind. And if you’re enjoying a drink at the same time then that’s fabulous.

I hope you’ve liked seeing a different side to me and my home. Thank you for indulging me in this and I’d love to hear a few comments from you, either on the blog or over on social media.

Do you have lovely memories of drinking sherry?

What do you think of this new way to to enjoy it? Would you give it a try?
