How to Create a Cosy Nook with HomeSense plus Giveaway

Today, I’m really excited to show you something I’ve been working on recently. If you follow me on Instagram (if not, you can do that HERE), you’ll have seen me talking about this project on IG Stories a few days ago.

I’ve been creating a beautiful, cosy reading nook and giving it some real wow factor with a few inspiring home interior pieces from HomeSense.

If you’re not familiar with the homeware brand HomeSense, let me tell you a little more.

HomeSense is part of the TK Maxx family. So, if you love TK Maxx home, you’ll find lots more to adore at HomeSense. Since launching in 2008, they are now 44 stores-big and still growing. Generally they are a bit off-beat and off-the-beaten track, so you’ll find them in out of town shopping areas and beyond.

HomeSense buyers bring you savings of up to 60% less than the RRP on branded and quality homeware. New deliveries arrive from all over the globe, all the time and you never know what you might find. There’s lots to explore for every room, and hundreds of gifts too.

That’s the really important thing regarding HomeSense. You never know what they’ll have in store, and if you don’t buy it there and then, it could well be gone the next time you visit. You really do have to think differently when you go and shop in this store.

You never know what you’ll find, and you find things you never knew you needed. It’s just Endless Inspiration.

So on my recent visit, I went along thinking I needed a coffee table. We recently moved the living room around, and our coffee table also doubles up as a television stand, so we had re-homed it, leaving the middle of the room feeling bare and empty. I miss my table.

I know HomeSense always has something a little different and unusual, so that’s what was in my head when I went shopping there a few weeks ago.

However, what I came away with was something completely different. I definitely didn’t end up with a new coffee table, but from the choice in the store that day, I could have changed every light in the house for something new, and kitted out the garden beautifully.

What did catch my eye as soon as entered were these amazing, oversized floor lamps, in lots of different colours.

As you can see from my reading nook, it was the gold one that really appealed to me. I have a real thing about gold pieces in my home now and have been slowly adding a few items here and there, from photo frames to lamps and plant pots. I do think there aren’t really any rules when it comes to adding metallics to your home, but mixing them up does seem to be a trend currently.

So, my mind swayed from coffee tables to how I needed this lamp to really finish off this area I’d been putting together, and what else could I find that would complete the look.

I also thought that at just £69.99 it was a real bargain.

Ok, so with the lamp in the trolley, I went on the hunt for something extra. I wasn’t sure exactly what, but I knew I’d find inspiration in the store. So yes, at this point, my mind was truly open and I had no real brief or plan. Sometimes that’s just the best way to go about shopping in a HomeSense store.

After a 15 minutes of searching, I found it! Tucked in the window display, a unique, one-off piece, nothing else like it across the whole store. A quick chat with the assistant and this lovely, smoky blue knitted pouffe was mine. It was the perfect item to pull together the colour scheme, and the ideal place to rest my feet whilst relaxing in this spot.

This piece was again great value at £39.99 and it’s such great quality and so well made. I’m so pleased with it; I’d been wanting a stool like this for ages.

And it totally finishes off the spot, adding style, practicality and colour. Perfect.

What do you think of my cosy, reading nook now it’s all finished? Could you use a spot like this in your home?

What a cozy reading nook! I have an ottoman just like that, but beige. I love it! Too bad Homesense is only in the UK!

Woah looks great! The pouffe is a nice touch too, though i’m kinda curious why you didn’t go for a warmer colour, i’m not exactly an expert on things like these so i’d love to hear your reasoning! Other than that, absolutely adoring the setup, keep it up Jen!
