Featured Partner Post

When it comes to exam revision, your study room design is incredibly important.

Our own daughter is doing A levels as I type and it’s been essential to her revision focus that we help her create a calm and peaceful study area.

These are some of the tips and ideas we’ve been using that really help her keep a clear head and focus on her studies for hours at a time.

Having such a comfortable space reduces stress and means you are more relaxed  and more motivated. This is crucial when it comes to exam season and our young people are thrust into a world of deadlines and pressure.

Remember, the desk and the chair are not the only essentials when considering a room design.

There are many other factors to consider when you plan the layout and design of your study area. And you can have great fun doing it too!

In this article we will delve into a few elements to focus on when you want a calm and comfortable study room that aids your exam revision.

Study Room Design: Shelves Play an Important Role

There are many ways to arrange bookshelves in your room to optimize your storage space and leave some room for decorative accessories that add a personal touch.

But there is one basic rule for setting up the displays on your bookshelf.

Occupy one-third of your shelf with the textbooks and notebooks you regularly use for your studies.

Making them accessible will enable you to find the necessary book quickly without wasting time searching in piles around your desk or table area.

Then another third of free space can be filled with accessories; things that lighten your mood and give you joy to see and look at when you’re working.

And the last part can be left empty to make the space look not so overwhelmed. Never underestimate the benefits of negative space in your decor and designs.

Another tip is to organize 60% of your books vertically and 40% horizontally to maintain the feeling of balance and spontaneity in your interior design.

The key here is to experiment with these rules to find an desk aesthetic that you truly love. Decluttering and organisation will help overall with your mood, lowering stress levels and helping your concentration.

Make Some Space to Move Around

Working on your room designing project may require some time and patience.

One of the main things that will help is to do your research. Find blogs, Pinterest boards and articles that showcase styles you love to give you ideas on the design choices you want to make.

If your study commitments prevent you from creating the work space of your dreams, turn to professionals to manage some of your ore complex academic tasks which take time and energy to complete. Reading writepaperfor.me reviews will help you choose the most reliable service and give you more free time to design your home and create a workspace.

When you start developing a plan of how to exploit the space more effectively, make sure you consider adding lots of space in which to move.

Limiting furniture and keeping it space friendly (perhaps for smaller bedrooms or offices) you’ll help develop a spacious, less cluttered atmosphere.

Decluttering your corner where you do your homework or study for exams will allow you to concentrate more easily and finish work more quickly.

Why not consider that when you get tired of sitting for long periods, you can use your free space in the room to put a yoga mat on the floor and do some exercises. Alternatively, why not think about a desk bike!

Bring Some Nature Indoor

Some students may find it difficult to put their books away and go outdoors to enjoy the beauty of nature that surrounds us. Especially with the exams looming it can be hard to prioritise exercise and moving around outdoors.

So why not bring the outdoors in and add some nature to your study room design.

Try adding beautiful flowers on your windowsill for example. This is a great way to calm your mind and relax your mood.

It would be a good idea to put plants and flowers everywhere if they inspire you.

Experiment with various colours, shapes, patterns, and materials to achieve your desired style and aesthetic. Even if you prefer a minimalist look, you can still add just one or two plants to your study area.

Remember, everything is so individual. Someone will require an elaborate and exquisite design, while others may turn to a minimalist and simple style.

So design a study room that suits your temperament and interior passions. Don’t be led by trends, but do adhere to study room design that you adore!
