Fabulous HomeSense Furniture and Accessories Home Update:

Wall Art:

I adore all kinds of wall art, and was thrilled to find some new pieces that suit the new decorating scheme on my visit to Homesense last month. It’s important to be flexible when you shop here; you won’t always find what you expected so go with an open mind.

I picked up two pieces in my botanical/tropical theme (one straight ahead and the other on top of the cupboards). Both are good sized aluminium prints with thin frames perfect for my pink and green theme with accents of black.

I love that the largest is a little oversized and quite imposing; it messes up the proportions nicely and adds a little wow factor too.

Soft furnishings:

Cushions are a little weakness of mine and so I couldn’t come away without one in the basket. I wasn’t too sure what I’d find, but when I spotted this luxurious velvet, feather filled long cushion complete with pink leafy print, I knew it would work in the room.

I have a dark green velvet sofa on order so it’s going to look even better when that arrives.

One of my best buys from the trip has to be this pink wool stool; an undeniable piece of fabulous Homesense furniture.

Not only is it stunning, but it’s practical too. We’ll use it as a coffee table, extra seating and a spot to rest weary feet. I just know this is going to get so much use and at just £49.99 I thought it was an excellent find.

There were only 2 in the whole store so I was really lucky to spot this. If you see something in Homesense that you love, it’s always best to buy it there and then. It could be gone by the time you go home, think about it and come back.

Accessories:

Along with cushions I have a house full of candles. Seriously you can never have too many, and as well as filling the room with delicious scents, get the right packaging and you have stylish accessories too. These ranged in price from just £5 upwards, and the variation in green tones looks lush against the pink walls, natural greenery and my old gold vintage trolley.

Room schemes have to be fun too right? Well I always think it’s great to add something a little unexpected, and this glass parrot paperweight is exactly that. Homesense often have a lot of glassware and I’ve picked up pieces like this before. Nestled next to my faux orchid in marble pot on the corner of the unit, it makes a striking statement. Both of these pieces came in at under £20 each.

Lighting:

The main thing missing from the room was a pendant light. There was a small selection of suitable lights in the corner of the store, and this one jumped out at me. It’s simple but being black, it adds to my colour accent, and the gold underside complements a few other metallic pieces in the room. Whilst it wasn’t quite what I intended, it’s has unexpectedly worked out perfectly, and at under £35 it was a fabulous price too.
