Welcome to this month’s feature on finding the perfect holiday home in the UK. I’ve explained in previous posts how much my family adores a week in a beautiful cottage tucked away in a great part of the UK, often on the coast. We started our adventures when the children were tiny, and even though they’re now teenagers we’re still exploring. Admittedly the style of property has changed and the excursions we take are different. Wifi is now a priority over stair gates, and we love being near restaurants for evening meals rather than retreating to our cottage to put the children to bed. But the enjoyment of spending a week in a home from home is still high.
This month’s featured property is Garth in Pembrokeshire from Wales Cottage Holidays.
Garth is in Saundersfoot, a fabulous town in Pembrokeshire, South Wales. As a child I holidayed here many time and it holds very special memories for me. In fact, I took my own children back there a few years ago and had a great time exploring old haunts. The beaches in this area are wonderful and often the weather is much better than other parts of the country.
Garth is a stunning, contemporary property with magnificent views just a short walk from the centre of Saundersfoot. Wow, just take a look!
Accommodation:
The property sleeps 10 over 5 bedrooms with 4 bathrooms and you can even bring one pet. Of course one of the main features has to be the location. The views are just incredible, and the balconies and outdoor eating and relaxing spaces really take advantage of this.
Bedrooms:
The master bedroom has a super king size bed plus en-suite bathroom and dressing room. Decor is simple, neutral and smart, and very easy on the eye. What a great view to wake up to!
There’s a second double with en-suite, two further doubles and then a final twin. The bathrooms look stylish and contemporary in line with the overall decor of the property. The configuration lends itself well to a large family holiday, and with the availability of a travel cot, you can bring the baby too.
Living Space:
The living areas look sleek and simple too yet have everything you’ll need for a comfortable family holiday. I always love the lack of clutter in a holiday cottage, and it’s surprising how few belongings you actually need. But I do like home comforts so a good setup is essential.
The property really takes advantage of the 180 degree views so depending on the weather you can dine indoors or outdoors and still enjoy the the scenery.
Kitchen:
The kitchen runs from the front to the rear of the property and is equipped with everything you’d need, as you’d expect.
Outdoors:
As I’ve said already, this property and its views really have the wow factor, and whilst there’s no garden, that’s really now problem with the balconies and beach just below you. This is a space where you’ll be dining alfresco and forgetting your busy daily grind whilst looking out to see. Perfect.
The price ranges from £1500 to £3296 during peak summer months. Get it off peak with preschool children and enjoy the lighter rate, or share the school holiday fee with your larger family.
